TRIP COORDINATOR GUIDELINES

The Trip Coordinator’s guide spells out our expectations for those of us who lead formal paddles. It pays a lot of attention to the details that guarantee a successful trip. Trip Coordinators:

  • Make sure car shuttling so that everyone can get back to the launch point, where their cars are parked, after the paddle.
  • Make sure it’s possible to paddle in both directions (with and against the current) on rivers
  • Make sure there is a good place to launch our boats.
  • Make sure that waivers are signed
  • Make sure that someone is “sweep” (the paddler who is always last, to make sure no one ever just disappears)
  • Make sure that arrangements for after-paddle activities — lunch, beer, etc are handled.
