USING THE CALENDAR:
Events for Great Lakes Paddlers (GLP) as well as other organizations are listed on the calendar. Each group is listed with the group abbreviation as shown below the calendar. Click on the appropriate event listing for more details.
PADDLE SKILLS & TRIP DIFFICULTY RATING GUIDE:
This guide helps paddlers determine if a trip is appropriate for them based on their skill and experience level.
It is essential that you notify the trip leader / contact person that you plan to paddle with
them. Trip leaders are listed in the paddle details in Eddy Lines and in the details section of the calendar.
Please let your leaders know your skill level and equipment.
If no notification is received the trip leader / contact person may decide to paddle elsewhere.
A PFD (personal flotation device) must be worn at all times while on the water, no exceptions.
Water and sunscreen are important. Make sure that you have enough water to keep you hydrated for the day.
A pump is needed for a kayak, a bailer for a canoe, as well as a sponge to remove excess water.
Cold water paddles: These paddles are for experienced paddlers only and require a full change of clothing in a waterproof bag.
